My Age Zimbabwe, in collaboration with Dawa, conducted a series of theater performance sessions in Chingwizi and Masvingo, centered on “Addressing Inequalities to Support HIV Prevention Among Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW).” These sessions convened young women, healthcare professionals, and community leaders, fostering an environment for sharing impactful narratives reflecting community realities.
Post-performance discussions facilitated open dialogue, enabling participants to articulate personal experiences and pinpoint critical challenges encountered by AGYW. These conversations spurred the development of collaborative solutions, with young individuals and community representatives delineating actionable strategies to resolve identified issues.
A significant outcome was the commitment from community leaders to sustain engagement with youth, notably through the Health Centre Committee, to ensure the prioritization and fulfillment of their needs. These sessions underscored the significance of collective action in mitigating inequalities and bolstering HIV prevention initiatives.
