PMNCH 1.8 Billion Campaign

My Age Participated in the Development  Advocating for Change for Adolescents' toolkit which is a tool that enables young people to bring about change in their communities, influence decision-makers as well as hold governments accountable for delivering on their commitments to prioritize adolescent well-being. My Age is rolling out the toolkit in Zimbabwe and building movement of young people in the lead up to the Global Forum for Adolescents (GFA) (October 2023). The GFA will be the world’s largest event for adolescents, which will be co-produced and co-owned by young people. My Age convenes dialogues with government , donors, key stakeholders and young people and leverages and uses digital conversations to capture and provide real time analysis of young people’s nuanced perspectives, priorities, concerns, and ambitions – feeding into the Action Agenda for Adolescents and the GFA more broadly.

Some of the content created on this will help artists to be linked to NGOs that support the work and engage the artists as brand ambassadors

ACCESS INITIATIVE

Under Momentum, Power, Activism, Strategy & Solidarity (COMPASS) Africa, My Age is Implementing The Youth Inclusion in HIV Prevention Campaign which focuses on three thematic areas, disability inclusion, removal of age restrictions and youth movement building. The disability inclusion thematic area focuses on advocating for the creation of a disability inclusive monitoring and evaluation system which allow for generating evidence that can provide insight on the negative SRHR outcomes, HIV and AIDS burden among AGYW with disabilities. The age of consent thematic area aims to call for removal of age restrictions when accessing services and enhance access for adolescents and young people increasing uptake of HIV and SRH services in the country. This project seeks to create opportunities for other areas of SRH programming such as comprehensive sexuality education in schools, access to contraceptives and abortion services and rights-based approach to service delivery, inevitably contributing to changes in HIV incidence, decrease in unplanned teenage pregnancies among other key performance indicators. The youth movement building thematic area focuses on improving accountability for SRHR, HIV/AIDS programs targeting AYP. Overall, the project aims to ensure sustained, meaningful participation of young people in decision making platforms such as CCM, CLM steering committee, National AIDS Council board, adoption of YAM recommendations for GF, PEPFAR processes and funding for implementation of the Adolescent Health Implementation Plan

YES PROJECT

The Youth Education on Sexuality (YES) project is designed to have young people be part of a movement with the common goal of improving young people's access to sexual and reproductive health information and services including CSE. The project acknowledges young people's innovativeness in creating CSE information packages that are compatible to different sub-populations of young people. Through coordinating youth-led CSOs focusing on CSE towards a collective movement of CSE, co-creating with young people CSE information packages that are innovative, user-friendly and accessible by different groups of young people and engaging policy makers advocating for the review and implementation of CSE through policies such as the School Health Policy the project will contribute to increased access to CSE by young people (10-24) in and out of school as a means for them to fully enjoy their Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights.

YOUNG WOMEN LEAD PROJECT

Under the She Decides Movement, The Women Lead Project aims to reduce harmful social norms that perpetuate discrimination and abuse of women and girls. The project focuses on building a movement of girls and women-led organisations within societies to fight against harmful social norms that perpetuate violence against women and girls and inhibit equality. Designed to harness the expertise, vision, and lived experiences of women and girls within communities through capacity strengthening of Feminist Led Organisations on advocacy, training on movement building, safety and security and training on regional and international instruments that govern SRHR the project informs our programming on how to capacitate women and girls and link them to learning programs thus ensuring inclusive participation in policy and decision-making spaces
