My Age and DAWA consortium recently concluded a four-day Resource Mobilization Strategy Development Workshop, facilitated under the VIIV grant, to strengthen its capacity for sustainable funding acquisition and management. This project aims to reduce new HIV infections and promote positive health outcomes for AGYW. The initiative aligns with global efforts to ensure that all AGYW have the knowledge, skills, and resources they need to protect themselves from HIV and lead healthy, fulfilling lives
The workshop, held in early April 2025 and led by an expert consultant, focused on strategic resource mobilization within the complex landscape of nonprofit and development funding. Author(s)Key activities included comprehensive donor mapping, identifying and prioritizing institutional funders, philanthropic organizations, and potential private sector partners. Furthermore, a thorough grant analysis was conducted to align the consortium’s objectives with current funding opportunities, alongside an exploration of alternative financing models.
A central objective was the development of a unified resource mobilization strategy. The workshop facilitated goal alignment and role clarification within the consortium, culminating in a joint proposal framework designed to strengthen collaborative grant applications. This integrated approach leverages the distinct strengths of each partner organization.
The workshop produced a comprehensive funding roadmap, a consortium-wide action plan, and strengthened internal coordination mechanisms. Moving forward, the consortium will implement the established strategy, actively engage potential donors, and adapt its approaches based on ongoing evaluation.
The Resource Mobilization Strategy Development Workshop represents a significant step towards ensuring the long-term financial sustainability of the My Age and DAWA consortium. Through systematic planning and a unified approach, the consortium is now better equipped to secure resources and maximize its impact. Continuous evaluation and stakeholder engagement will be crucial for sustained success.
