Empowering Marginalized Communities with SRHR Information!

My Age Zimbabwe recently conducted a Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) information session, specifically tailored for sex workers and the lesbian, bisexual, and queer (LBQ) community. This initiative underscores the organization’s commitment to empowering vulnerable populations with the knowledge necessary to navigate healthcare systems, exercise their rights, and assert their bodily autonomy.

The core objective of the session was to equip participants with a comprehensive understanding of their SRHR, enabling them to make informed decisions regarding their health and well-being. A significant portion of the discussion addressed the critical issue of unsafe abortion, aiming to provide attendees with the information needed to make responsible choices and disseminate accurate knowledge among their peers.

The info session served as a platform for attendees to share their experiences and articulate the challenges they encounter in accessing SRHR services. These narratives revealed the profound difficulties faced by young sex workers and LGBTQ individuals, highlighting the urgent need for targeted interventions and supportive resources. By fostering open dialogue and providing accurate information, My Age Zimbabwe strives to create a more equitable and inclusive healthcare landscape for all.
